Flydubai, the renowned Dubai-based carrier, continues to redefine its inflight experience by introducing PressReader, a digital content platform. Passengers aboard 70% of flydubai’s fleet now have complimentary access to a diverse selection of digital magazines through the carrier’s inflight entertainment system. The airline plans to extend this service to additional aircraft in its fleet over the next few months.
This strategic move is part of flydubai’s ongoing collaboration with PressReader, expanding beyond the inflight setting. Visitors to the flydubai Business Lounge at Dubai International (DXB) can now enjoy complimentary access to PressReader’s extensive content. By connecting to the Business Class Lounge WiFi network and downloading the PressReader app, passengers can seamlessly browse and download their preferred publications before their flight.
Flydubai passengers, both in Business Class and Economy Class, can now access the latest digital content, covering business, news, travel, and lifestyle directly from their seats through the inflight entertainment system. This service is offered on a complimentary basis, enhancing the overall travel experience for the airline’s diverse clientele.
Daniel Kerrison, Senior Vice President of Inflight Operations at flydubai, expressed enthusiasm about the expanded partnership, stating, “We are excited to expand our partnership with PressReader. Over the years, we have invested in new technologies as part of our commitment to improving customer experience and offering the right product at the right time. By introducing PressReader as a paperless alternative to print publications onboard, we provide our passengers with complimentary access to a wide range of popular international titles without contributing to extra fuel consumption.”
Flydubai’s commitment to a superior inflight experience is also evident in its latest aircraft, featuring the RAVE inflight entertainment system by Safran Passenger Innovations (SPI). The seatback system boasts an impressive 11.6-inch full HD screen, offering a broad selection of movies, TV shows, music, and games. Economy Class passengers can opt for an entertainment package, while Business Class passengers enjoy complimentary access to the extensive content.
Carlos Martinez, Director of Partnerships at PressReader, highlighted the significance of the expanded partnership, stating, “The expansion of our partnership with flydubai further strengthens our inflight presence. By offering a wide range of engaging publications through the flydubai IFE system, we are providing passengers with quality reading content during their flight, even in an offline environment.”
Flydubai has established a growing network of over 120 destinations across 54 countries, served by an efficient fleet of 84 Boeing 737 aircraft. With its ongoing commitment to innovation and passenger satisfaction, flydubai continues to set new standards in the aviation industry.
