Doaa Aref, CEO of Chefaa, told The Strategic View how they are connecting patients to pharmacies all over Egypt to make it easier for them to get their medications, especially patients with chronic conditions and they also offer other range of services to further assist them.
1. What led you to create ‘Chefaa’? When was it founded?
Chefaa was founded in 2017. Three Years ago, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, surprise!! surgery was the easy part. The problem was to get my daily lifelong medications sustainably; sometimes I couldn’t find it, sometimes I would get the wrong medicine if ordered over the phone and I would simply forget to take it!
2. What is the core service/solution you are providing? What pain points are you targeting and what is the key differentiating factor from similar offerings?
We offer 2 mobile apps connecting patients & pharmacies so patients can order, schedule, and refill their recurring prescriptions as well as non-pharmaceuticals and non-prescriptions from the nearest pharmacy according to GPS location. Chronic patients can schedule to get 30 days’ worth of dosage once per month together with dosage reminders. Patients can get all relevant non-prescriptions and non-pharmaceuticals from the Chefaa store. We offer free services as well to patients; 24/7 support offering free pharmaceutical consultations by licensed pharmacists and we have the first Arabic-speaking pharmaceutical blog to educate the public about the sound use of medicine.
All our services are designed around chronic patients. We are an AI-powered, GPS-enabled platform to help chronic patients have sustained access to their recurring medicine
3. What are the parameters to measure client satisfaction?
Our customer care centre returns to customers asking for feedback and suggestions to be better
4. What is your future outlook and what will you achieve by next year?
We are now operational all over Egypt, we have launched our private label and white label products line and we are planning to expand beyond Egypt.
