Contact Pay and OPay Forge Strategic Partnership to Revolutionize Digital Payments in Egypt

In a significant move towards advancing digital payment solutions in Egypt, Contact Pay, a leading payment solutions provider, and subsidiary of Contact Financial Holding, has inked a strategic cooperation agreement with OPay, a prominent fintech solutions and electronic payments company. This collaboration aims to elevate digital payment experiences for consumers and businesses while expanding the reach of both entities throughout the country.

Under the terms of the agreement, OPay will serve as a pivotal acquisition arm for Contact, bolstering its physical presence and customer outreach across Egypt. Leveraging OPay’s expansive network of over 90,000 POSs and payment kiosks strategically positioned across the nation, Contact aims to enhance accessibility to its digital payment solutions for a broader audience.

Amr Gohar, Head of Business Development at OPay, emphasized the strategic significance of the partnership, stating, “Partnering with Contact Pay is a strategic move to enhance digital payment experiences for both consumers and businesses. This partnership underscores OPay’s commitment to driving fintech innovation in Egypt and collaborating with all stakeholders in the financial sector.” OPay’s suite of innovative digital payment solutions, including contactless payment, online payment, and AI-powered digital wallet services, promises to streamline transactions and offer enhanced convenience to Contact’s customers.

Ahmed Abdel Hakim, Managing Director of Contact Pay, expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration, highlighting its potential to enrich payment services and enhance customer experiences. “We are delighted to partner with OPay, which will significantly enhance our payment services, improve customer experiences, and streamline payment collection by introducing a new payment method to our portfolio,” Abdel Hakim stated, underlining Contact’s commitment to customer-centric innovation.

Mahmoud Khedr, CEO of OPay, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the partnership’s role in advancing digital payments in Egypt. “OPay is dedicated to providing cutting-edge technologies and solutions in fintech.
