Mastercard, the official sponsor of the UEFA Champions League, has joined forces with the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) to introduce the UEFA Champions League Mastercard Credit Card, the first of its kind in Egypt. This innovative credit card offers exclusive benefits and cashback on online purchases for NBE’s cardholders.
The launch of this unique product aims to engage new customer segments, particularly young football enthusiasts while strengthening the longstanding partnership between Mastercard and NBE. The collaboration reflects the commitment of both entities to delivering innovative financial solutions that resonate with the passions and preferences of the Egyptian people.

Karim Sous, CEO of Retail Banking and Branches at NBE, highlighted the rich experience the new card provides for football lovers, allowing them to combine their passion for sports with the banking products and services provided by NBE. Sous explained that “customers can issue the new card with a credit limit starting from EGP 3,000 up to a maximum of EGP 250,000, motivating them to use digital payments for their financial transactions and contributing significantly to the transition towards a society less dependent on cash.”

The UEFA Champions League Mastercard Credit Card offers cardholders the chance to win free tickets to attend UEFA Champions League matches, including accommodation and travel. Special and distinctive prizes are also available through promotional campaigns. NBE provides additional exclusive benefits, including a 10% cashback per month on online purchases, capped at EGP 125 per card. The card also allows a 3-month interest-free payment in instalments for purchases up to EGP 10,000 a year through the “Loan-on-Phone” service, subject to terms and conditions.
