Staypineapple Partners with Zipcar to Introduce Exclusive Electric Vehicle Car-Sharing for Hotel Guests

Staypineapple, the renowned national boutique hotel brand, has taken a significant step towards environmental sustainability by launching an electric vehicle (EV) car-sharing service in collaboration with Zipcar, the world’s leading car-sharing network. The initiative, exclusive for Staypineapple guests, currently features Zipcar EVs at Staypineapple’s Hotel Rose in Portland, OR, and Watertown Hotel in Seattle, WA.

Designed to enhance the guest experience while minimizing the company’s carbon footprint, Staypineapple’s EV partnership program offers guests exclusive access to Zipcar Chevy Bolts parked and charging at the hotels’ on-site EV charging stations. Dina Belon, President at Staypineapple, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “The launch of our Zipcar EV partnership program is an incredible step forward in Staypineapple’s efforts to reduce our company’s carbon footprint, while also offering unique experiences and services to our guests.”

Belon highlighted the environmental commitment by stating, “These EVs are plugged into our hotels’ on-site charging stations, which are powered primarily by renewable energy, providing our guests with a more sustainable and responsible means of driving around and exploring during their stay with us.”

Exclusive membership to Zipcar will be complimentary for Staypineapple guests, ensuring an affordable and convenient transportation option. The only costs incurred by guests will be the low hourly or daily rental rates and associated fees for booking and driving the Zipcar EVs. Zipcar’s membership benefits include 24/7 on-demand, self-service access to electric charging (or gas) vehicles by the hour, day, or week, coupled with insurance options, maintenance, and dedicated parking.

Kate Smith, Head of Business to Business and Partnerships at Zipcar, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the shared commitment to environmental sustainability. Smith stated, “As Zipcar expands our fleet of electric vehicles nationwide, we aim to make the EV driving experience accessible for all who need affordable, convenient transportation.”

Zipcar’s strategic initiatives align with the White House EV Acceleration Challenge, committing to allocating 25% of its EV fleet to disadvantaged communities. The commitment also includes doubling the EV fleet size in 2024, further contributing to the widespread adoption of sustainable transportation solutions.

To access these exclusive EVs, Staypineapple guests in Portland and Seattle’s University District can pre-register and reserve time through instructions provided in Staypineapple’s pre-arrival emails. Alternatively, guests can inquire further information from the hotel’s front desk team upon arrival. The partnership signifies a joint effort to provide an environmentally friendly guest experience and drive the path forward for sustainable, electric transportation.
